EAST ANGLIA 1 NORTH and EAST ANGLIA 2 SECTION 48 CONSULTATION - SCOTTISH POWER RENEWABLES
The latest round of consultation is currently open - closing on March 26th.
The Suffolk Preservation Society is preparing its response - we have a team of experts analysing the environmental impacts of these proposals.
How have we been involved up to now?
- We have been liaising and supporting concerned local residents and groups regarding the impact on our special coastline and the countryside around Friston which is set to host 3 large substations to support the wind farms.
- We sit on the Scottish Power Renewables Expert Topic Group to advise on the impact of these large schemes on the built heritage and archaeology of the area due to the siting of the the substations and the upheaval that will be caused by the under-grounding of power lines between the coast and Friston
- We have been meeting with the AONB Partnership to discuss issues which threaten the special qualities of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
