Responding to a planning application

If you would like to write in support of, or to object to, a proposed development the following information will prove useful:

CPRE Guide: a really useful step-by-step guide on how to make your views known can has been compiled by the Campaign to Protect Rural England. To access this click here.

Planning Policy and Guidance: The Government sets national policy for planning issues and guidance is available from both government and other agencies such as Historic England. Under this menu option we have added links to national policy as well guidance against which a proposed development can be assessed.

Local Plans: District Councils produce detailed documents which set out planning policy at a local level. Use the menu option to the left to access the most up-to-date planning policy documents for your local planning authority.

Design: There are some useful tools to help assess and respond to the design of a proposal such as Building for Life and A Councillor's Guide to Urban Design
