Fiona Cairns: Director
BA(Hons) DipTP DipBldgCons(RICS) MRTPI IHBC
Fiona joined SPS in 2012 having spent over 20 years working in local government as a conservation planner. She has worked in a variety of urban and rural planning authorities, from Westminster City Council to Monmouthshire County Council. She has also worked as a listing inspector for Cadw, Welsh Historic Monuments on the accelerated resurvey of the statutory list of buildings of architectural and historic interest. Before joining SPS she was a freelance heritage consultant.
Bethany Philbedge: Planning Officer
BSc(Hons) MSc Town Planning RTPI Licentiate Member
Bethany joined the team in 2013 having completed her Masters in Town Planning in which she focussed on heritage and community planning. She previously worked as a Parish Clerk for a number of years for a Suffolk parish, giving her an insight into community issues, and also as a systems analyst.
Linda Cockburn: Office Manager
Linda has worked for SPS since June 2008 first as Office Assistant and in 2009 she became Office Manager responsible for membership services, financial control and generally making sure that everything runs smoothly. Her background is mainly in the financial industry where she worked for NatWest Bank and a Solicitors Pension Company.
Linda Clapham: editor of Suffolk View
Linda has, since 2004, been the editor of Suffolk View, its twice yearly publication. With a background in corporate secretariat in the City and spells with two former government agencies, the Rural Development Commission and the Nature Conservancy Council, she also established and managed for ten years a conservation charitable trust and limited company to provide, with associates, advice and services to the public on conservation building repair and planning. Linda retains a long interest in vernacular buildings and heritage conservation, and the local amenity society movement.
Elizabeth Clement: Events Co-ordinator
Elizabeth is a volunteer who manages the Society’s major fundraising events for the Society together with providing proof reading services to the Editor. She is an Australian but has been resident here for many years. Before moving to Suffolk she worked as a physiotherapist in London.
