We are a self funding charity that stands up for Suffolk’s special heritage and landscape through the planning system.

We are passionate about sustaining the beauty and distinctive character of Suffolk, its landscape, historic buildings, towns and villages – for now and for future generations. We support community groups, individuals, parish councils and amenity societies to work through the planning system to influence outcomes for the benefit of our county. We fight to protect our existing built and natural heritage and to deliver new development which is sustainable and well designed.

SPS also represents CPRE, the countryside charity, in Suffolk, campaigning for the countryside at a national level.

We are passionate about Suffolk's rich heritage and offer support and encouragement to all those who care about their historic environment. The county's built heritage has a cultural, environmental and economic importance which cannot be overestimated.
