We are a self funding charity that stands up for Suffolk’s special heritage and landscape through the planning system.

We are passionate about sustaining the beauty and distinctive character of Suffolk, its landscape, historic buildings, towns and villages – for now and for future generations. We fight through the planning system to protect our built and natural heritage and for new development which is sustainable, well designed and respectful to Suffolk.

SPS also represents CPRE, the countryside charity, in Suffolk, campaigning for the countryside at a national level.

Suffolk's rich built heritage has a cultural, environmental, economic and social importance which cannot be replaced. SPS campaigns to preserve the historic environment from harmful development.
