SPS monitors planning applications affecting the county’s historic environment including conservation areas and listed buildings, as well as our more humble unlisted heritage.
We pride ourselves on making sound, well-argued representations to prevent harmful impacts on this precious inheritance.
SPS works to ensure that the planning policy framework for managing Suffolk’s heritage is effective.
We respond to a broad range of national and local policy consultations such as proposals to relax planning rules affecting our historic high streets; designations of conservation areas; and Supplementary Planning Documents relating to development that may affect the historic environment such as intensive poultry rearing.
