In January Scottish Power Renewables submitted its Development Consent Order application for 2 new windfarms off the Suffolk coast. SPS is concerned over the on shore impacts of the infrastructure required to support these including the vast substations at Friston and the 7km cable route through the AONB.

On 27 January Therese Coffey MP submitted a formal objection to the projects calling for them to be refused due to their harmful impact on the countryside, habitats, heritage assets, local resident amenity and tourism. Read her letter here.
