This webinar for parish councils will focus on how Neighbourhood Plans (NPs) can effectively protect the special qualities of your parish and will be invaluable to all councils currently involved in, or considering preparing a NP.
Ian Poole, Director of Places4People is a Neighbourhood Planning consultant and will lead the training. He will focus on the importance of two key principles of a successful NP: preparing an evidence base and community engagement.
By looking specifically at issues relating to heritage assets, local green spaces, importance of design guidance and landscape characterisation, Ian will take us through the different approaches, and how they come together to provide a framework to consider future development proposals.
This will be followed by a question-and-answer session where you will have an opportunity to raise your own NP questions and issues with Ian. The forum will also include a panel of Suffolk NP groups who have all successfully completed their plans, and will be able to give tips and advice on avoiding common pitfalls.
