A huge amount of people are currently missing out.

In the East Anglian Daily Times (29 March) SPS Director, Fiona Cairns, writes about ensuring everyone can enjoy our countryside:
Levels of inaccessibility to the countryside are damaging to those individuals and communities directly excluded, but I believe that they also represent a longer-term challenge to the very existence of such designated landscapes, including the two AONBs here in Suffolk: Dedham Vale and Suffolk Coasts & Heaths.
Indeed, the separation of significant numbers of our citizens from any meaningful attachment to, sympathy for and understanding of our historic buildings, towns and villages as well as the wider environments in which they are sited, risks a future society even less inclined to their sustainable and purposeful preservation.
You can’t appreciate something you’ve never experienced.
