Joining instructions for Wenham Castle event

On arrival please park on the paddock adjoining Little Wenham Hall. From the paddock we will be led through an access to the ‘castle’ and church.

Please note the site is in a remote location without services and the nearest WC is at the community centre (entrance next to the library) at Capel St Mary, IP9 2ER. You may wish to stop off here before you arrive at Wenham Castle.

If you would like to extend your visit you are welcome to bring a picnic, however there is no seating available in the grounds, so please bring whatever you need.

Directions to Wenham Castle:
From the north: Take the B1070 from Hadleigh towards Colchester; between Raydon and Holton St Mary, take a the left turning signed Great Wenham; go past Great Wenham and take the right turning signed Capel St Mary; go past the Queen’s Head and, at a right-turning bend, take the left turning signed Little Wenham; go down the lane a short way and the entrance splay, lined with wooden paling, is on your left. Follow direction signs for parking.

From the south and east: From the A12 between Ipswich and Colchester, take the exit to Capel St Mary; continue through Capel, past the church on your right, and go out of the village up Mill Hill; at a left-turning bend, take the right turning signed Little Wenham; go down the lane a short way and the entrance splay, lined with wooden paling, is on your left. Follow direction signs for parking.
