SPS can also offer advice and support to all those who care for Suffolk’s special landscapes and built heritage. This includes amenity societies, campaign groups and parish councils as well as individual historic property owners and neighbours.

SPS offers advice to concerned local councils and communities facing a planning application which will impact a much loved landscape, or an application to a listed building, development within its setting, or within a conservation area. The aim is to help them navigate the often-complex planning system and make robust and effective consultation responses.

We can also signpost to expert local craftspeople and specialist built-environment professionals. Or we can just give a bit of helpful advice on some of the pitfalls to avoid when preparing a listed building application or responding to a planning application consultation.

If you think we may be able to help you, you can contact us here and we will get back to you.

The Suffolk Preservation Society is a self-funding charitable organisation. We are able to provide advice and carry out our campaigning working through the ongoing financial support from our Membership and through donations and legacies.

We would love to welcome you as a Member – please visit our Membership page and Donation page for more information on how you can support SPS.
