National Bodies

Local Councils

District authorities – Ipswich Borough Council, East Suffolk Council, Babergh District Council, Mid Suffolk District Council and West Suffolk Council – provide advice to home owners on heritage projects. Their websites contain guidance and policy on listed buildings, conservation areas, and guidance and policy specific to their area. If you have queries or concerns, please contact your council directly.

Suffolk County Council maintains the Suffolk Historic Environment Record (HER) – a collection of information about the nature and location of archaeological sites in Suffolk.
