Suffolk is a county with a rich and diverse history, where successive generations have made their mark on the landscape. At the Suffolk Preservation Society, we celebrate this unique heritage through our lively events programme, through our regular communications, and through promoting the significant cultural contribution that Suffolk makes to our national story.
A particular area of interest and strength for the Suffolk Preservation Society, is the access that we are able to grant for our members to often private houses and estates. Through our role in the county, we work with owners who share our passion for the county’s historic buildings and landscape, and we enable study days and visits in order to grow a better understanding of Suffolk’s unique architectural legacy.

More broadly, we share stories of Suffolk’s history and promote its heritage attractions – from the ancient burial ground of Sutton Hoo, to the artistic programming of Gainsborough’s House, and the community engagement of Suffolk’s many county shows – we are invested in all that makes our county so special.
