One of our charitable objects is to empower communities to have a greater say in the future of their area. One way in which we do this we provide regular training events for parish and town councillors, neighbourhood planning groups, amenity societies and single issue campaigning groups.
Most recently we have hosted training events on:
- Retrofitting historic buildings
- Landscape – protecting and improving landscapes via a neighbourhood plan and interrogating landscaping within planning applications for new development
- Heritage – understanding and protecting the valuable heritage for statutory consultees
- Urban design – assessing and improving the design of new housing developments
- Media – effective use of the media to highlight a campaign
- Archaeology – understanding the historical development of the built and natural landscape
